problem #2

Vue 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,410 miles

Stabilizer bar broke into two pieces driving in my driveway at less then 5 mph. Made loud clunking noise. Examination revealed the long section of bar was hanging down skipping along the ground. Could now be driven so was hauled to Saturn North-Denver dealer (now out of businwess due to Saturn shutdown). Dealer adamantly stated they had never seen such a thing happen. Replaced by dealer under warranty (cost was itremized at $450,01, took two fays to order part in). Happened second time on Nov. 2009--see separate complaint for that detail.

Vue 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,750 miles

previous complaint filed under miscellaneous, should have been under suspension. Right front stablizer bar broke second time at identical point as previous one in Oct. 2007. Previous broken one replaced by Saturn North-Denver at mileage 39410. Both broken bars (all pieces) retained by me/owner and are in my possession. Both broke bars show same stress fractures at exact same point. Mother of non-Saturn mechanic replacing stabilizer bar also had same model Saturn VUE, was told to have car checked and it was found to have same defective stabilizer bar. This time was supposedly replaced with after market stablizer bar but I have been unable to confirm that.
