The contact owned a 2005 Scion Tc. While the contact was accelerating from a traffic light, her vehicle was T-boned by another vehicle that ran a red light. The entire driver's side of the vehicle was smashed in and the vehicle was totaled. There were no injuries. The side curtain air bags and driver's side air bag did not deploy. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed to a body shop. The manufacturer was contacted and reminded by the contact that there was an unknown recall for the side air bags for which the vehicle was repaired for in 2006. The manufacturer responded with a letter, stating that they assigned an engineer to diagnose the vehicle. Based on their inspection, they did not find enough frontal damage to command the deployment of the side air bags. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 91,400.

Takata recall?? airbags failed, during accident. After being cutoff and going down route X. lost control hiding concrete. Car flipped, was dragged a few feet's - no airbags. Passenger still has anxiety when getting into vehicles-the one thing you'd think would respond didn't. how do we ever get the sense of security back.

Takota recall. I was recently in a potentially fatal accident and my airbags didn't deploy and I hit my head on the steering wheel pretty hard. I was on the highway and a deer bolted out in front of my car and my initial reaction was to avoid it and ran into a traffic sign and smacked the guard rail going around 50 mph.

Our daughters 2005 Scion Tc was in an accident that was a head on collision she lost control on black ice and hit a pole. Her car has been deemed totaled by the insurance and body shop due to the severe damage to the car. She has numerous injuries from this accident and the air bags not deploying. It is very strange when I called Toyota they claim there are no recalls for airbags which I see in fact there is by this website. They also state that the airbags would not deploy in this type of accident, with her hitting the pole direct and the car being totaled because of the damage how can they say this? they have not even seen the car and over the phone they are stating the airbags would not go off in this type of accident. Sounds like Toyota needs to get their facts straight. Thank god my daughter is still here, she had an angel looking after her that night because it certainly was not Toyota.

Purchased 2005 Scion Tc new on 12/29/2004 have had several problems with interior trim and paint. Then last June (2009) when opening the trunk (hatch back) the latch plate came off the car in my hand hanging by a cord. This plate is made of very thin plastic and attached to the car with thin plastic clips. The clips are not strong enough to with stand the constant use and amount of upward pressure it takes to raise the hatch. In December 2009 the lever on the drivers seat back to move the seat forward to allow passengers in the back stuck and wouldn't move. Couple days later the lever would move but didn't work. The seat back can only be moved now using the lever at the side of the seat bottom. The car had less than 50,000 miles on it when the trunk/hatch piece broke off and under 60,000 miles when the seat lever stopped working. All the interior trim pieces that line the hatch window have broken off and they are also only held in place with these very flimsy plastic clips. The drivers side front pillar airbag cover has been falling off since the 3-4 month I owned the car the dealer has "tried" to repair and still when you shut the door or just driving the cover falls off.

Hi, I was involved in a car accident December 2, 2009. I own a Scion Tc 2005 model. I was traveling on highway 440 outer beltline near ext 7 glenwood avenue. It was raining heavily at approximately 6:30pm when I hit a puddle in the left far lane and began hydroplaning, I hit the car next to me on my passenger side and started spinning approximately 4-5 times and hit the cement barrier on the bridge of crabtree creek. I hit the barrier head on and the spun around again and hit the back drivers side on the cement as well. My car ended against the cement barrier on the far right side of the road facing the wrong direction. My complaint is that my airbags never deployed. Luckily I was not severely injured but hitting head on it is my opinion and that of the owner of the collision repair shop that my car was brought to, that the air bags should have deployed for safety reasons. I was driving at a speed of approximately 50 miles per hour, no more then 55. I have done research that shows it only take speeds of 8-14 mph that the air bags should go off at a sudden deceleration, and I was certainly going faster then that. There were a few recalls on the airbags on my make and model of vehicle but these were mostly pertaining to the side and knee bags. I have filed a claim with the Toyota/Scion customer service representatives and sent them pictures and I do have a case number with them. The dot people that came to the site of the crash had mentioned that this site of road is being investigated for previous accidents.

The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Scion Tc. When the contact closed the passenger door on the vehicle, the passenger side air bag deployed without warning. The vehicle filled with chemicals from the air bag. The contact received a recall notice, but the dealer stated that the repairs for the air bag would be at the contact's expense. The VIN and mileages were unknown.

My son was involved in an accident involving his 2005 Scion Tc hatchback. The right front tire left the road and he attempted to correct this. When he corrected, the back end of the car went out from under his control. He crossed the center line and entered the ditch on the left side of the road. He hit a driveway culvert head on. The car then flipped end over end and turned sideways before it landed nose down in a ditch approximately 40 feet from initial impact. Neither the driver or front passenger airbags deployed. He and I have attempted to contact Scion for assistance, they have given us no help. Could you please help us out?

The passenger seat and passenger side curtain airbags deployed after a passenger exited the vehicle and closed the door. I was still in the drivers seat at the time. My right arm and right cheek were scratched.
