These are replacement pirelli tires for my daughter's 2006 Scion Tc. 235/40R18 H pirelli P zero nero A/S 91H tires installed new about 1 year ago. 1 tire on left rear developed large bulge/bubble on sidewall - identified during service at servicing Toyota dealership. Contacted pirelli usa - was advised to have tire replaced and return incident tire to pirelli for evaluation and any possible credit towards purchase of replacement. To date, and after several contacts with big O tires who performed the replacement - no answer. Please note there was no evidence of split or damage to inside casing opposite the bulge - this tire was not damaged against a curb. Could have led to a blow out.

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Scion Tc with bf goodrich tires, G-force sport tires, size P215/45/R17. He stated that all four tires had severe cracks in the sidewalls and the tread. The replacement tires were purchased in 2006. The vehicle was taken into a local tire center where the tires were investigated and replaced at the owner's expense. The manufacturer was contacted and agreed to reimburse the contact for all four tires on the vehicle due to the extent of the flaws in the tires. The failure mileage on the tires was 15,000 and the vehicle failure mileage was 60,000. The VIN was not available.

On my 2006 Scion Tc I currently equipped with Bridgestone turanza el 400 tire size: 215/45zr17. The problem that I've encountered is the tread is separating from the side walls on both front tires and I can feel that the rear tires are starting to do the same. Fortunately for me I spotted this defect before an incident occurred. Currently the cords are exposed on top of the tires. They almost feel like the tires where recapped and are now separating. I just noticed it today 28 Nov 2008 and I'll have to replace the tires tomorrow. I only have approx. 25,000 miles on these specific tires and they are rated for 80,000 miles. This is a potential safety/recall issue that needs to be addressed immediately especially if occurring to others. Please inform if a recall is present for these tires. Thank you!!!

After a month of owning my 06 Scion Tc the wheels started to screech when reversing and a tire started to loose pressure. When I took it to the local Toyota service department at 4,500 mile and told me the car was running normal and all I had to do was reset the tire pressure cause the light will come on anytime driving over a bump due to the low profile tire..well, now at 29,000 miles the whole back end of the car vibrates when turning the steering wheel, there's a ticking noise from upper/lower windshield area, my glove box rattles and the ac switch clicks loudly. I schedule an appointment as soon as the car started to rattle which was the same day I had got my routine oil change at the dealer ship and being sat I had to wait till Monday to bring it in. When I take it in they take a quick exam of the car buy listening to it and say everything sounds normal to me. I take it to another Toyota service department I tell them the same thing (tires screeching, whole end vibrating and ticking, noise behind glove box) they take a look and say the knocking noise you hear is from the sun roof frame so we ordered a part. They told me everything else is fine and never fixed the problem. I pick it up from the dealership and the later that evening I go to start it to roll the windows up and the car rotates but doesn't want to start. After the second time the car starts I leave it alone and test it later that night it does the same thing and hasn't stopped since. If I leave it sitting for 30 min or longer it does this. I take it and get it looked at as soon as the local Toyota dealership opens the next day(today May 3 2008) and they said it's my key causing it and that I need to by a new one..I told them I have 2 spares and they insisted I buy a new keyless entry key. I said im taking it to another dealer and they told me they wont be able to get to it till Monday...

The vehicle was deemed a lemon because of rattling sounds coming from the hatchback for which 3 unsuccessful attempts were made to repair. Other failures included: The transmission wouldn't engage when you put the car in reverse gear, the rear bumper was cracked, and the tires screeched. The contact was in an accident on 11/25/2006 at 3:30 am, on 110 expressway in los angeles. The contact was driving 60 mph. Neither the weather nor the road conditions were a factor in the crash. During a turn, the tires weren't gripping the road well. The vehicle veered to the right and he applied brakes to slow car down. The consumer overcorrection to the left and proceeded into a ditch. The vehicle spun around and another vehicle hit him on the passenger side. The contact also stated that the airbags never deployed. The contact stated that the car being a lemon was the cause of the crash. The contact has a police report.
