Should have been designed better but Toyota fixed it for free so I can't complain.

most of the trim brackets broke getting to the 2 bolts holding it on. very heavy tail gate for 2 bolts to lift. i have had few other problems so far, also original owner.

The handle for the hatch is held on by plastic clips. It is not strong enough to support lifting the weight of the back glass so it breaks off. That's why you see so many tC with them taped on. You have to learn to just pop the trunk and then put your finger tips under the trunk lid next to the bumper and lift it from there because there is no fix for this ridiculous design flaw. This car is very cheaply made and a lot of quality corners were cut.
