The paint started peeling off both driver and passenger mirrors about a year after I bought the car. I live in a pretty mild climate and never exposed the car to anything harsh other than an occasional run through the car wash. The passenger side is the worst. It appears, that during the manufacture, the paint didn't adhere properly to the plastic material used to house the mirrors. I've read complaints from other owners describing the same problem, but no admission from Toyota or recall, need to pay for it myself
