problem #2

Aug 052012

tC 2.4L

  • Manual transmission
  • 48,000 miles

My clutch began staying on the floor after I pressed it and I would have to pull it back up with my toe. Drove it this way for a while before I could get it fixed. Very annoying and not acceptable for a car with under 50k miles.

Update from Nov 27, 2020: It was the slave cylinder. Cheap fix.

(reported on)

tC 2.4L

  • Manual transmission
  • 7,000 miles

Either there is something wrong with the tC's clutch, or it's just the worst clutch ever installed on a car.

It seems to have a different 'biting point' every time I pull away. I also seem to have to hold it at the REALLY VAGUE biting point for absolutely ages in order to get a smooth pull-away.

It's almost impossible to pull-away smoothly 100% of the time, and makes the driver seem like a learner.

Haven't yet taken it to the dealer, but will soon.
