At the beginning of 2009, I bought a brand new 2009 Scion Tc from the Toyota dealership. I had not had any issues until Monday 22feb10. At 5:30pm, I attempted to drive the car, having to stop at the stop sign at the end of my street before turning onto the major interstate (rte. 1). upon pressing the brake, the car did not stop. I rolled directly into oncoming traffic on rte 1; luckily, I quickly steered into the middle lane, barely avoiding a collision. I turned into the gas station parking lot beside my street and attempted to stop at the next stop sign connecting the gas station to my street. Again, my brakes failed and I rolled directly into the middle of my street. Thankfully, there was no oncoming traffic at this time, but having my brakes failed twice terrified me. I have contacted Toyota but no one seems very willing to help. The service manager of the dealership is going to have the Scion Tc towed to the shop this morning to inspect the car. I have heard from several people that they are experiencing brake failures in their Toyota and Scion as well. Again, it is a brand new 2009 Scion Tc with 9500 miles on it. The car has only ever been serviced at the Toyota dealership. It recently passed state inspection as well.

While parking at a restaurant parking lot my brakes did not want to engage and ended up hitting a trash can at about 5 mph it just happened that one time. One fender had minor damages. Took the car to get serviced up and the brakes were replaced by the car dealership at no cost with the car under 8000 miles
