Bought a new 2009 Scion TC. After only 8,300 miles and two months of owning the vehicle it started to have problems with the transmission and rattling noises. The A/C compressor made a horrible sound when sitting idle. The transmission whined when going down the road and grinded into gear sometimes even locking me out of gears. I took the car to the dealership they replaced the transmission with nothing much to say besides "it must of been built on a friday", and acted like they were doing us a favor by not charging us. Then a few weeks later i started noticing a burning smell, almost like a electrical smell. I also started to experience problems again with the transmission. Not as apparent but still happening. I took it to the dealership over and over and they claimed nothing was wrong with it. they now said that gears grinding were normal and we just didnt know any better because we own mistubishi's and honda's (based on a conversation we had stating this was our first toyota) but yet they then contradicted themselves stating that this car is like a JEEP and their transmissions grind also. they also took the initiative to go on wikipedia for their "factual" information. Remind you this is the Toyota Dealerships statements and actions. Auto-Way Toyota and Scion in Pinellas Park ,FL. (I wouldnt bother ever going there)
In the end result im currently waiting for my lemon law hearing which will be this thursday. Because the dealership stated nothing on the repair orders of what they verbally told us. im not sure how this lemon law hearing will turn out because the arbitrators will be viewing documentation as evidence. i just want toyota to take their car back and be done with them. Ive never had so many problems in my life. This is the first and last Scion/Toyota I will ever buy. EVERRRRR.
