Well, I too have a 2006 Scion Xa with less than 5,000 miles on it! the left tweeter and mirror combination must be a bad design because mine is leaking and it also caused the tweeter to fail. The ventilation system for heating/cooling and defogging is woefully inadequate. I'm very concerned about the person who stated that his Scion have improperly gaped spark plugs!! doesn't seem like Toyota and now, Scion is building cars the way they used too. Dealers and service people aren't very friendly and both dealerships in this Maryland area are less than amicable or skilled about service-not very knowledgeable or don't really care. I'm very disappointed with this Scion product-it rattles and squeaks on the interior, but it's hard to pinpoint where they are coming from and not the usual expected Toyota quality. Brakes seem to take too long to stop and are mushy even at low speeds. Car is basically a modern-day disappointment and I read about the fuel filler tube needing to be replaced on a Scion forum because poor design causes fuel to spill over when filling the tank to near full-happened to me on several occasions. Thought I was supposed to enjoy my new car, but it it worrisome and will probably spend a lot of time getting the defects straightened out. Also, on a Scion forum, the radio controls on the steering and radio/cd head unit have been known to fail. Car seems poorly engineered and low quality. Headlights in particular are a very poor design on dark streets and also in the fog-provide little illumination for any distance.
