The drivers side seatbelt where it attaches to the base between the seats is loose. The tailgate hatch assembly broke off. This is the only way to open the trunk and it is a cheap piece of plastic attached to the hatchback with 2 screws. As I was trying to open the trunk, the whole assembly came off in my hand. I have seen this in several other Scion around town.

The dealer was notified and stated that the spring was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted and offered to reimburse the contact. The contact was waiting for the parts to be received by the dealer in order to have the vehicle repaired. The current and failure mileages were approximately 66,990.
