Rear wheel passenger side out of alignment and can't be fixed. Top side leans inward. Car never been in accident and it has always had a problem of wear on that tire side. It has been brought to my attention by a an alignment technician, that it could be a known issue as he had seen this on many Scion. Its been like this since I can remember. Always buying new tires due to this condition. Due to this issue as well, car wants to vier to right most often, even with perfect alignment in the front. Purchased new late 2007

Vehicle's rear wheel speed sensor connectors get corroded by road salt, resulting in failure of car's computer to register speed of rear wheels. Therefore, the anti-lock braking system and vehicle stability control may not function correctly in snowy conditions. Toyota released a technical service bulletin regarding this issue and corrected the design flaw on later Scion Xb models. (s-sb-0040-09 July 6, 2009).

I was behind a pickup truck in a left turn lane.the truck turned and hit a motorcycle which then hit my bumper, left front wheel, drivers door, left passenger door, left rear wheel and left rear quarter panel. $5700 damage. Not one air bag deployed. I suffered concussion with vision loss in my left eye and a herniated disc in my neck from the whiplash.the motorcycle was moving at traffic speed. I was stopped.

My tires slipped in the snow in March, very light snow. Not sure of the exact date. My brake light, ABS light and traction control light came on. A few days later they went off. Now all three are on most of the time even on clear, dry pavement. My anti lock brakes are not activating correctly and I was told that the senor is bad. I looked online and noticed this is a problem with this particular make and model. The car does not stop as it should. I also noticed from my research that Toyota is not taking responsibility for their defect and it is costing the consumer up to and over a thousand dollars to repair. I don't have that type of money to repair their defective part.

While driving on snowy and salted roads, the brake, ABS, and vsc lights all came on at the same time. They remained on while driving on those same snowy and salty roads. The next day they eventually went off. Weeks later they came on again in wet weather and remained on. The local Toyota service center duplicated the issue and pulled the diagnostic codes C0210 & C1238. The Toyota service center said the entire hub and bearing assembly had to be replaced as the internal ABS sensor which they said was at fault was not sold separately and only came as part of the hub and bearing assembly kit. Their quote to repair this issue was $915 for the replacement of one hub and bearing kit! this is ridiculous. Brake sensors should not fail due to snow, salt, or water coming into contact with them. This is a dangerous flaw in the design of this vehicle and one that is not commonly found with other makes and models, but is commonly reported all over the internet from other owners of Toyota's Scion Xb. Toyota should issue a safety recall for this vehicle and cover the cost to replace the sensors with ones that do not fail due to weather conditions.

This vehicle had a lot of issues, first the front passenger seat belt fail 12/26/09 Toyota fixed/replaced now 4/3/12 discovered oil is burning to the point the oil light came on. Checked oil no oil show on oil dipstick then went to autozone bought the oil and topped it off 4/3/12. Before this both rear wheel bearings fail worn out. Replaced both sides cost almost $900 just parts alone. I've never own a new car before that has so much issues like this one. This vehicle is poorly made and Toyota should do something about this. Is this mean I will have to topped off my vehicle every other week or change my rear bearing and hubs every 50-70 miles or sooner" this is ridiculous and this is not Toyota it used to known for. I own Honda/Acura and Nissan never have this problem before. Not even once and have the vehicle more than 5-7 years already. Now my rear door/trunk don't want to open like there is time delay or some type. Why aren't Toyota warn people of the know issues or fixed it before they sell it"

The anti-lock brake system (ABS), visibility stabile control (vsc) and traction control warning light, and brake indicators remain illuminated on the instrument panel. The repair center has advised me on different repairs that are inconsistent. One repair option is a faulty sensor in one of my rear wheels that needs replacing. The other repair was that the wheel bearing was bad on the left front wheel and that when fixed would re-set the sensor lights. This is an obvious flaw in the design of this vehicle and Toyota should make every effort to repair the sensor problem. I an not sure why the bearings need to be replaced at this time at over $500/wheel. The brake pads, rotors, calipers and other brake parts need frequent replacement at a very high cost.

Dashboard warning light for brakes, ABS, and tcs light up randomly so the driver cannot determine if there is a problem with the brakes or it is a false warning. The car was examined by don joseph Toyota/Scion in kent, Ohio on March 1, 2010. They said the right rear sensor was malfunctioning and it would cost approximately $700 to repair it because the car has 53,000 miles on it and is out of warranty. This failure has been occurring intermittently for one month.

I bought a 2008 Scion xd in September 2008. 6 weeks after I bought the car, I totaled it when steering on an on-ramp to the highway. It spun three times and finally stopped after hitting the guardrail. I was alone. I got whiplash. I am a very experienced driver but the car lost absolute control at a low speed (under 25 mph) but on wet blacktop in the fall in new england.. the car was $30 from being classified as a total. The body shop was owned by the dealer - not sure if the $30 discrepancy had anything to do with that. They also said the frame/unibody was slightly off and left me with a totally valueless car with 3,000 miles on it. Since then I do not trust the steering of the car. It does seem to swim at speeds over 55 - 60 mph - almost a hydroplaning feel to the steering on dry pavement. I wonder what it will take for it to be recalled?
