The contact owns a 2010 Scion Xb. The contact stated that the oil level warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Toyota direct (4248 morse rd, columbus, oh 43230, (614) 476-1979) who informed the contact that there was evidence of excessive oil consumption. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall however, an extended warranty was available for purchase to assist in having the vehicle repaired. The failure mileage was 85,393.

Excessive engine oil consumption. My car engine oil drop way below the lower limit of the oil stick mark between the oil change interval. I have to add 1.5 quart of oil to bring the level back to normal level (between the hi and lo mark). The car consumes most of the oil with only 2000 miles from the last oil change.
