B9 Tribeca

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

We were traveling on a major highway, in passing lane passing 3 cars 65 mph when hood flew up and smashed out the windshield. This could have been deadly. Angels were truly on our side that day. I would like to know if there is any compensation from Subaru.

B9 Tribeca

Hood flew up while driving on Rt9 south in Oldbridge, NJ @ 45 mph. Repairs bill was around $5000. But, is this OK to do nothing on this issue? Why are there no law suits, no recalls etc.? There are so many complains, Its a danger, it can kill you. It happened to me back in 2009, and just today in 2013 I was about to add some windshield washer, so I opened my hood, and it popped up completely, and that secondary lock did not hold it again! It could have been another accident if it had happened on the running car. I am scared to drive this car again. Do they need to have a few people killed before they will admit they built a car that can kill you for nothing. This is a problem that doesnt go away with repairs - I had everything replaced even lock mechanism and cable to the handle under your dash. And it happened again today. That idiot who designed that lock for Tribeca needs to be castrated so that there will be no more idiots of this kind. All right, what are we supposed to do now?
