We took the car into the dealership due to an engine light being on and the recall was something they informed us about and we decided to take care of it all at the same time. We have never recieved safety recall information from Subaru. My Son owned the car prior to us and purchased from Subaru dealership. After several weeks of the car being at the dealership and a very large bill we picked up the car and drove 14 miles and the engine light went on again. We returned the car to dealership and they had it another week at least and we picked it up again with no further engine light coming back on. The engine light never turned back on even when the car stalled out and heard a banging sound. We had car towed to Subaru dealership. The car has been there for several weeks and now they are telling us we need to pay $8000 to fix. The car seemed to have lost power after we had recall and feel that the our safety was at risk and my Sons safety as well due to not receiving safety recall notification and service of the recall not resolving the issue with the motor in fact making it worse. Subaru of America has let us know they have no responsibility and will not assist us with any repairs even though our car is stuck in another state and clearly this has been an ongoing issue with this make, model, and year. I had experienced the pressing on the brake and feeling acceleration but I thought maybe my foot had slipped or something as it only happened once. I am thankful that we were only driving between 35 and 45mph when the car actually died while driving.

I had my Brz recall repair in the spring of 2019. It took about 3 weeks for the Subaru dealer to fix the spring valve. When I received it back, my engine felt a little rough and had a high idle and made some noise. Due to the pandemic I have not driven much since the repair, so I didn't notice too much of an issue, but was planning to go back to the dealer when covid was less of a risk. Today, I drove my car maybe 500 miles since the repair, and as I accelerated on to the highway my car started revving really high, check engine line flashed on and the car lose power and stopped. If I pressed on the gas, it started to decline in speed and ultimately stopped. I made my way to the right lane, hit the hazards and waited stressfully for a tow truck as cars sped by me on the highway. I understand that there are issues like I just experienced since the recall fix and wanted to advise you of my issue. Please let me know what I can do to get the car back up to safety standards.

My Subaru Brz was recalled for valve springs. I dropped off my Subaru on June 24th for the repair. I was told it would take a few days but the car was not ready for pick up until Saturday July 20th. When I picked up the car I was charged $33 for oil filters. When I drove the car out of the parking lot the car had no power and there was a noise coming from the car. I brought the car back to the dealer and they said that they would have to keep it. It is now Tuesday July 23rd and I have no update as to what is wrong with the car or when it will be repaired.

So the tech did my recall, after the recall, it was idling weird and acting stupid, the cam gear sprocket died and needed to be replaced, it got replaced and was running fine with no issues. Took it on the test drive they were was looking at the vvt angles, and everything was looking good then he was at 5-6K RPM making sure it was good then oil pressure dropped vvt went crazy, and it rod knocked. Brzs have been having issues non stop after recalls. In motion.

I dropped my car off at colonial Subaru in South chesterfield, Virginia on 2/16 to have the NHTSA safety recall campaign # 18V-722 performed. On 3/1 I received a call from sevice advisor mindy williams telling me the dealership will be refusing to perform the recall in accordance with soa bulletin wty-84R ( available at https://static.NHTSA.gov/ODI/rcl/2018/rcrit-18V772-6522.pdf ). she stated that they will need me to pay $650 to remove and reinstall aftermarket modifications on the vehicle. Subaru of America bulletin # wty-84R was filed with the NHTSA on 1/14/19. This document, specifically page 6, section 2 titled "fa engine procedure" states: "' contact the soa techline immediately to review any concerns believed to be impeding or preventing proper completion of this recall. There should be very few if any cases where this would be necessary. A severe example of an impediment would be if the wrong specification engine is found to be installed. Nearly all aftermarket modifications can be worked around or removed to allow valve spring replacement to proceed. ' contact the soa claims team should removal and / or reinstallation of these customer modifications require significant additional time." Based on this section, Subaru should be working around these aftermarket modifications and if extra time is required their policy states that soa will pay for it, not the customer. Soa's refusal to complete this recall puts them in clear breach of the agreement they filed with the NHTSA. I have attempted escalating this to dealership management as well as corporate customer relations (where I spoke to 4 people, including a supervisor.) none would even acknowledge soa's filing with the NHTSA and continued to refuse to perform the recall. **please** help me get this resolved. Thank you so much.
