windshield cracked immediately windshield cracked immediately

Don't know if it's worth yelling about but it's definitely frustrating. When researching them it came up it was a common issue so I half expected it, and the city I was living used pebbles when it snowed rather than sand so got approximately 10 chips before hitting 25,000 kms, but the last little rock hit in a different province causing a crack and it cracked immediately, the rock hit and within minutes I could hear it making a noise that sounded similar to ice cracking on a lake. It seems to grow about 2-3 inches every day, and I'm not sure if I should get it repaired under insurance or pay out of pocket as I haven't priced it yet.

Will have to check my paperwork, but it's something I really don't have time to deal with right now, but unfortunately I'll have to do an out of province inspection before I can insure it, sooo that'll be another expenditure ughhh not even sure how much a new one costs but if I repair it, how long before I have to get another installed if it's the same issue? Anyone else have had this issue in Canada and how often has it happened? I did get the smart program, but I don't think it covers cracks, just the chips.. annoying, costly, pain in the a$$... Anyway, I love everything else about the car lol it's amazing on gas, lots of room, and fits all our camping gear! Going to be an amazing summer vehicle!

windshield cracked immediately

So I’m currently at the dealership waiting for my 2 hour hitch install, and 4.5 hrs later, and I had plenty of time to walk the parking lot a few times, and saw there are 3 other newer Subaru with the same cracked windshield. The service liaison (window tech also) told me he gets maybe one every couple of weeks in, and when I asked and told him the what for! Must be the day to assess windshields, jk!! It was caused by a rock within 2 weeks of owning, the dealer put the first 300 miles and couple of scratches I could the day they delivered, I wasn’t aware of any damage at that time, so who knows when or how? My second new Subaru - I’m at 14 months, 50k on the first with zero issues!
