Bought a Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid partly because everyone around me loves a Subaru and having driven Prius hybrid for nearly 15 years thought it was time to switch to the Subaru Hybrid.

As soon as I bought the car I had problems with the battery dying even though it was driven the previous day. But the warranty and Subaru roadside assistance folks always jump started it.

Then 3 years later right after the warranty ended I started having problems again. I did leave on a long trip and requested a friend of mine to drive the car every 2 weeks, which he did. But when I returned the car wouldn't start because the battery had died. This time had to call my regular roadside assistance and they jump started the car. While the car started fine the combination meter failed. A lot of the data on the display was missing. Ended up paying 1000+ to get a new battery, and combination meter.

Not sure if I would buy a Subaru ever again! If car batteries discharge every 2 weeks and if electronics are sensitive and go out this quickly, what is the point of buying an expensive car. I wish I had kept my old trustworthy Prius!
