problem #2

Jan 232016

Forester LL Bean Edition 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 184,021 miles

It shifts rough going from 1st to 2nd til it warms up, unless it's above 32 degs. I told my mechanic and he said just go easy when you take off, but it slams into 2nd til its warm. A real pain in my ass and wallet if it does not get any better !!

Forester XS 2.5L H4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 128,624 miles

Bought my car it drove fine. Got it out and started driving in the cold (around freezing, as it was february). Transmission began slipping quite a bit and the transmission SLAMMED into 4th gear. I thought i hit a pot hole the first time. It happened again..and again..and again, every time i started the car i had to wait for it to warm up before shifting it into 4th gear (automatic). Had the fluid drained and replaced and the filter replaced, fixed the slipping quite a bit. Still thuds and slams into 4th gear even at 26 degrees C. This is my 3rd subaru and ive never had this problem. Thinking about buying a chev now.... thanks subaru for letting me down on this car.

Talked to my mechanic who knows a guy with another forester like mine, his does the same thing.
