I went to pick up my daughter at school, turned off the car, got back in and the car started but wouldn't go into gear. The ABS light, vehicle assist light and uphill traction light all came on and said to get it checked.I didn't know what to do as this has never happened before and it was 5pm... I called the dealer and he explained how to get the car into gear by popping off the little cap by the shifter and inserting a screw driver in, pushing it down and shifting into neutral but that I probably wouldn't have tail lights.... that's helpful!

I was able to get it to the shop (not the dealership yet) and they basically said the car was " really sick" and it was beyond their scope that I had no other choice but to take it to the dealer. So, I did. My car is 4 years old. I have gotten all the proper maintenance done on it, but before they would even look at it, they said the battery was dead and it would be $300 Canadian to fix that.

On top of all of this, the trunk decided not to open. I couldn't use the key, the switch inside the car, or manually open it. Thats another $600 to fix

Now they are saying it is also the brake switch that needs to be replaced... oh that's another $110

They also have reminded me on a few occasions that they cant give me a time line of when my car would be ready and only because I was relentless do I think they gave me a loaner car.

All in all I am very frustrated with this car/ the dealership. It seemed fine and out of no where I'm hit with over $1000 in car repairments and the exact same thing that I am reading from other complaints... the dealership is saying that they basically have never heard of this happening before.
