This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Subaru dealer.
This is the second time the problem occurred. When the car is started, or when driving along normally, three warnings come on in the dashboard... (1) Traction, (2) ABS and (3) Hill Assist.
This time the service advisor knew exactly what was wrong and had it fixed it right away.
The first two years ago was due to the switch under the parking/handbrake. This time it was under the brake pedal. The switch was replaced at a shade under $100. It would have cost $100 for deductible under extended warranty anyway if the cost went over $100

This was the first time the problem occurred. When starting the car, or driving along normally, three warnings come on in the dashboard... (1) Traction, (2) ABS and (3) Hill Assist. Once I turn the engine off, they may or may not come back right away but will probably do so the next day.
I took it to the dealer twice but they said that I have to come when those lights are on, which was an issue because when the lights came on, I was driving out of town!
Finally, I did some research via Google searches and found that the problem was due to brake sensor switch. When I took the car to the dealer the third time, I took a print out of the results from my Google search. They did not readily accept it. They said that they would check and do what might be needed.
Finally, they said that they had to replace the brake sensor switch near the parking/hand brake. It was covered under warranty.
