Subaru stated that the positive terminal was corroded and fixed at cost of $42.06. When we stated that vehicle was still hard to start, they replaced the battery (they stated it was under warranty). On the bill it stated it was a goodwill repair by the service manager. We feel it was because they knew it was a problem not fixed by the Subaru company.

12/12/19: Noticed that horn only worked with key fob - not with steering wheel. Took it to Dealer, replaced wire harness for $500+. (NOTE: Only Dealer is 100 miles away.)
12/31/19: While driving, smoke came out of the dash. Smelled electrical.
1/2/20: Dealer cannot find problem. No work done - return home with car.
1/25/20: Battery dead, recharge at home.
1/28/20: Battery dead, buy new $158.
4/30/20: Recall coil springs. Dealer rebooted computer, because they thought it "was not turning off."
5/12/20: Battery dead, recharge at home.
5/17/20: Battery dead, call Dealer, recharge at home. Wait for call-back.
5/20/20: Leave car with Dealer. (No loaner!!)
6/17/20: Pick up car. Dealer said could not find malfunction, but replaced battery & fan relay anyway.
7/14/20: Battery dead. Dealer suggests "battery tender" or "take it to someone else." Not acceptable options.
7/21/20: Leave car with Dealer. Use of Legacy loaner.
7/31/20: Dealer sends driver to switch loaner from Legacy to Ascent.
8/13/20: Call Dealer - says found "extremely intermittent malfunction." Replace TIM (Thermal Interface Module?) to control relays.
8/20/20: Dealer sends driver to pick up extra key fob & reprogram to new TIM.
8/29/20: Pick up car.
9/12/20: Battery dead.

I feel that this issue should have been fixed properly by Subaru, seeing as they know what the problem is.
