With the technology these days, why would Subaru not be able to match the paint on metal parts and plastic parts. Also the finish was really dull until I waxed the car.
Subaru is a simple, basic, vehicle, cheaply made and undeserving of the good reputation it has.

My 2016 Subaru Forester is generally a good, basic car. But the paint, red in color, seems to chip very easily. About 15 chips and rising. This is happening in random areas all over the vehicle not just in stone chip territory or around the door handles where paint can be damaged by keys. The car even had one chip when I picked it up as new! This seems like excessive chipping for a new premium priced car.
Not to mention the poor color match between the metal and plastic body parts - spoiler, bumper
