When turning sharply, as into a parking spot, there is a binding in the wheels which slows down or resists the forward motion of the car. It appears that the wheels, while aligned for "normal" driving, tend to misalign when turning sharp. It could also be that the transmission/drive train is in 4 wheel lock which would also cause this lurching.
I have another vehicle which does something similar only when making a turn while in 4 wheel lock.
