Forester Premium 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

For about 1-2 weeks now, I've notice that I could not take the key out of the steering wheel, normally this only happens if the steering wheel locks, the steering wheel was never locked, so after a few frustrating moments, I decided to look to see why the key was not coming out, low and behold the ignition lock cylinder was actually coming out of the steering wheel, WOW!!!!! Well I just used my thumbs to push it back into the wheel; on occasion I have to push it back in, and will have to do so until I can get it fix/repaired/replaced.

I purchased this vehicle in 2019, it had 23K miles on it, so in 7years I've only put just over 42K miles on it, and have taken care of all the preventive maintenance in a timely manner, no one drives my SUV but me, use the best gas, either Phillips 66 or Shell because they are top tier gas stations, which cleans the engines due to the more detergent they have in their gas, so, I'm good at taking care of the vehicle. Didn't expect something of this nature to happen, was very surprised and disappointed.

Steering wheel locked and key would not turn in the ignition. This is the second time this has occurred. This could be dangerous.
