Forester V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 151,000 miles

The car is dangerous. I had a warranty with Car Shield. I took it to the dealership and had it looked at because all the instruments and hazard indicators were going crazy after I turned the car off. The car eventually would not shut off even with the car turned off.

The dealer determined that I had three different wiring harnesses had broken wires plus the carpet got wet somehow even though the car stayed in a garage. Car shield denied my claim because water had got into the car somehow. WATER DOES NOT BREAK WIRES ESPECIALLY IN THE CONSOLE. IT IS OVER SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS TO HAVE THE CAR FIXED. WHEN YOU NEED THEM THEY WILL NOT BE THERE AND WILL NOT PAY. This is terrible. I have talked to an attorney now so I really can't say much about about this situation. Now I have to buy another car while still owing five thousand on this car.

Occasionally the electrical does weird things in the car. Sometimes the radio won't work. Sometimes the back hatch won't open. Sometimes the dashboard flickers. The display screen sometimes shuts off. These things don't happen very often but it has been enough to notice and to report it on here. Lately the Android Auto doesn't work right. It will randomly disconnect the maps app and shut down. Just annoying little things like that happen randomly.

Forester Sport 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

This is a serious safety issue.

The safety features suddenly go haywire and either don't work, or work intermittently.

Affects EyeSight, Lane Assist/Departure, Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection (indicator lights on sideview mirrors don't work).

WTF? Why buy safety features in your car if they aren't going to work?
