The Auto Start/Stop system is supposed to turn off the car when the brake pedal is pressed while stopped for a light or intersection. Then it restarts the car when the brake pedal is released. This is to save gas, especially in urban areas.
BUT, it's very erratic. Most times when I'm stopped at a light, it never kicks in. Yes, my foot is consistently on the brake pedal. Or I'll be stopped at a very long light for 1-2 minutes, and it will cut the engine just as the light turns green and I want to accelerate. WTF!
There's something wrong with the programming and settings of this system. Basically, it's useless.
