Impreza Outback Sport 2.5L H4

  • Manual transmission
  • 123,000 miles

The clutch for the A/C compressor started to fail, causing a loud whining noise that correlated with engine speed to occur. This can be fixed by removing the belt that drives the A/C compressor, since said belts only job is to drive the A/C compressor. That is, as long as you don't mind not having A/C. Otherwise, replace the compressor clutch or just replace the entire compressor unit.
