I have also had problems with the transmission in my 2007 Subaru Impreza. My car is bone stock and has never been raced or mistreated in any way. I called customer service and they said that it should be covered under warranty. When I spoke with the service dept. at the local Subaru dealer they told me it was most likely driver abuse and that it would not be covered. I think it's a total scam. No matter what is the real problem they are going to say that it is driver abuse and won't be covered. I am still working to get the issue resolved and, I plan on fighting it to the end.
