Impreza Outback Sport 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,183 miles

Our 2008 Subaru has less than 17000 miles and the evaporator coil leaks freon...this does not look good for Subaru's manufacturer/supplier of this part. To fix this part, the whole dashboard must be removed to reach the coil...this is a very time consuming which equals more labor rate costs.

I did some research on different online forums, it seems this is not an isolated incident. I read other Subaru Impreza owners have had the same defect of the evaporator coil leaking for Imprezas of the same model year, this leads me to believe that the evaporator coil part probably had a manufactured defect. I read a posting from a Subaru employee that he/she has lately seen a number of new Imprezas in for service regarding evaporator coil replacement.
