2011 Subaru WRX STI would not start, the fuel pump connector power pin on the fuel pump melted also burned the connector. Gas now is entering the fuel pump connecter. This is a fire hazard.

The gas tank is slowly leaking near the seam due to corrosion from salt and moisture being caught up in there from the same plastic gas tank cover with holes in it that caused the brake line corrosion recall. Leaks when it is over half full.

Beginning last winter, a strange and dangerous problem started with my Subaru. Whenever the outside temperature is cold (below freezing) and the gas tank is three quarters full or more, the gas tank leaks. If the car is parked for a few hours or more, the gas appears as a puddle on the ground (about 8 inches in diameter) and the fumes fill the interior of the car. If the car is parked in our attached garage, the fumes make their way into our home overnight. The odor is strong! this, in my opinion, is extremely dangerous. My laundry room is next to the garage and obviously, if I small gas, I don't use my clothes dryer. I have taken the car to my local Subaru dealer and they claim they cannot find any leak in the tank or fill portion. The only thing I can do -- is never fill the car more than half way and hope nothing bad happens, like a fire or explosion. I understand from the internet, this is a known problem with certain Subaru makes/models. Why is it not being addressed? please help.

3 times this month had to take my Subaru to dealer because my car was not accepting gas in the tank. It would squirt every gallon back at me each incident that this occurred. I had to suffer severe eye burns twice due too the gasoline hitting me directly in the face. Thank god a fire did not start. Now I have to take to the dealer again because problem still not solved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a 2011 WRX wagon. The clutch had begun to slip a little bit a few days earlier, with some slight revving. I was going up a hill on a narrow road, at night, in the rain. There was no shoulder and no street lights. The clutch suddenly gave way and the motor would no longer move the car. I allowed the car to roll back enough to get as close to the side of the road as possible. The first time the clutch gave way was about 18 months earlier, 6 months after purchasing the new car. The clutch is defective on these cars. I have only driven manual cars for 30 years, and had 2 go to over 100,000 miles on the same clutch. This could be a very dangerous problem on a highway. I called the police to "protect" me from oncoming traffic. I now want to trade in my car for a safer and more dependable vehicle.
