About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
My cars break lights are not working. My car will lose power on the road to where it will completely die and I have to turn the ignition off and turn it back on to keep going. My emergency brake light is on my tire sensor lights are on even though tire pressure is correct there are times when I cannot get my car into gear. It will make a very loud clunking noise and then a whizzing noise when you turn the air conditioner on and then you get no power at all to the car. I cannot go up a steep hill on the highway because it will only go up to 35 miles an hour. When it loses power on the highway and I have to the restart the car that's very dangerous.

This complaint relates to the following recall: Manufacturer recall number: Wty84 NHTSA recall number: 18V772000 the dealer in Colorado springs, co, heuberger motors, has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner. I called on January 17th, 2019 to schedule the work but as of today, April 23, 2019, they have not done so. They claim that "it's just a slow process". I find this unacceptable for a safety recall.

Vehicle will not start after an extended period of attempts. Appears to happen most often when vehicle is parked (either indoors or outside) for more than several hours. Car will crank over for 10+ seconds and will not start. After multiple attempts, car has started eventually. Have communicated with dealer and sia offices that I have noticed the car will make whirring noises that come from the back rh side of vehicle - and also a clicking noise near center of dash when turned off and sitting. This will go on for over 5 minutes at a time, which must drain battery since car is not turned on or engine running. Was told by dealer that this is the emission system "purging" itself - and is considered normal for this vehicle. Sia offices confirmed this and also stated that nothing is noted in the current owners manual which explains this feature. My concern is that the car is unable to start when required to - and am guessing that it might be related to this unusual feature.... regardless of origin, safety issue with car not starting and being ready to operate when normal starting procedures are followed.
