I have a 2015 Subaru Impreza 5 Dr Sport and the paint is chipping.
I brought it home and the next morning, when I went to get in it I noticed a paint chip above the drivers door handle.
I don't know if the chip was already there when I took possession of the car.
My car now has 3250 km on it, and there are several other obvious chips on the hood, roof, and door.
I've barely driven the car (550km a month) and when I do it's mostly low speed urban driving. I've had several cars before this for long periods of time and haven't had any issues with chipping.
I'm worried as to what this car will look like after 20k.
I brought the car in to get looked at by the dealership but they can't/didn't do anything.
A Subaru warranty specialist is going to contact me the next time they are in town.
I'm not sure if I should keep the car since I worry that when the time comes to sell it, a potential buyer will point out the chipping.
This issue is not acceptable for a brand new car.
Subaru Canada should be looking into this issue.
