We were pulling into a parking spot on a residential street, and put the car in reverse to back it up a little and the the car just took off... zooming up the sidewalk. It came very close to hitting the house!
Then on 9 Nov 21, it did it again. This time the car zoomed forward at the blink of an eye... that one is in a separate report.
We had our previous Subaru for over 15 years and never experience anything like this. This experience has totally destroyed our confidence in this company.

UNINTENDED ACCELERATION is very real. I would not have believed it if I didn't experience it yesterday. It is insane that this problem even exist. We were slowly pulling over to the curb on a residential street to park and suddenly the car just zoomed up the sidewalk at the blink of an eye. There was absolutely no time to even react.
The thing just took off...
We side swiped the right back light of a parked car and mowed down a tree. The body of the tree became lodged under the car and stopped it from going any further. Thanks goodness for the tree, otherwise the car would have kept going until it hit a fence, or into a house!
We are DONE with this car once the insurance etc things have been taken care of. The confidence of being on the road with this thing has been destroyed.
DRIVE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
PS....will do another report....but this is the SECOND time that this has happened within 3 years....last time it happened with the car in reverse.
