check engine light on and eye sight disabled

I am still really, really, really peeved because for months my Impreza Hatchback would not always start. AAA jumped it several times and kept telling me something was wrong with the car. Really bad and embarrassing for it not to start when I was at the mall or Lowe's or lunch or wherever. It was all due to a faulty fuel pump!!! And it took Subaru months to admit it...

Subaru service center replaced the fuel pump 1st part of July. Confined area to park at home and started smelling gas when I got out of the car. second week of July. Fellow employees have reminded me of my complaints. I don't know much about cars. Early last week Check Engine light came on and Eye Sight died. No Subaru service center around me so I had a car repair company pull the code which is P0455. It is not the gas cap as I went thru this early on and learned the hard way to turn it and hear the clicks!!

This is a new car, so it should not be having EVAP issues So the jury is still out until I can get it to Subaru.

Is this due to a poorly installed 'new' fuel pump or is there a bigger issue with the EVAP system? At least I feel good that I most likely will not blow up but I am polluting the air and I miss my Eye Sight system until I can get it to a Subaru repair center.
