The contact owns a 2010 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for a state inspection, he was informed that the front sub-frame had rotted. The vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact was informed that the front sub-frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The local dealer patriot Subaru (769 portland rd, saco, me 04072) was notified and advised that the repair cost would be the vehicle owner's responsibility. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered a credit towards another vehicle. The failure mileage was 90,000.

While driving our 2010 Subaru Legacy which we had purchased brand new and has currently 95,000 miles it started making a loud crunching noise coming from the front center wheel area and pulled hard to the left when breaking. We took it to our mechanic and a certified Subaru repair shop and they both informed us that it's a totally lost and not worth repairing that the undercarriage is rotted, specifically an issue with the left traverse link area. This is extactly the same issue Subaru has had in the past with older models. We called Subaru and there are no recalls yet.

I had entered a parking space, and was slowing to come to the end of said parking space. The car rapidly accelerated, and I could not stop it with the brake. I hit the concrete at the end of the space at full speed, which stopped the car. I noticed that the impact had slipped the gear into neutral. When I turned the car back on, it registered that it was in cruise control. I have never used cruise control on any this or any other vehicle. I have bruising from the seat belt, and neck pain from the impact. The vehicle is not drivable due to damage to the front end, and a rumbling noise in the engine with poor response when accelerating.
