While driving the vehicle, there was a loud "clunk" from the front-end. After that, during turns there is a lot of scraping, banging and popping noises. During braking, the car veers toward the right. The car is very unstable going around bends and on/off ramps. I took it to a mechanic and was told the front subframe on my vehicle has rusted out to the point he can put his fist through some of the holes. He contacted a dealer to get a price on a replacement and was told they have been waiting over 9 months for that particular part and there is currently no ETA for it. I contacted several other dealers and was told the part has been on backorder since January or February with no ETA. All the dealers I talked with said they are waiting on 10 or more. Based on that information, this seems to be a common problem with this model that may warrant some investigation and/or action to prompt Subaru to make the part available and possibly replace them via a recall. I really like this car and don't want to lose it over a $600 part not being available.

Car has extended cranking issue - it acts like the starter is bad or the battery is dying. Took it to the dealer and told them that the car has a hard time starting. It has died a couple times so I replaced the battery with an interstate battery and they told me that the battery was bad. I had the battery checked and it is definitely not bad. Asked the dealer to check the starter and they said it is fine. It seems that the car has some other issue with power being drawn from somewhere else.

Takata recall : I was driving down a highway just doing roughly 55 to 60 mph and the car revs up as if I had put it into neutral. I pulled over immediately because it wouldn't engage any gear. It started whining really bad to where people asked concerningly what was making it sound that way towards the beginning of the year and just exceeded until this incidence. 6 months ago I had the transmission fluid flushed and replaced for a highly few hundred dollars. This shouldn't of happened truthfully and other family and friends it seems oddly strange. Not to mention I have never relieved a letter about the extended warranty of the transmission problems. Now the warranty is expired as its all new news to me. If I'd known of the recall I would've taken my vehicle to the dealership to have it maintenanced because I definitely knew it seemed to be more than needing the transmission fluid changed. To beat it all shouldn't I have been addressed about the transmission from the dealership when I had them do the fluid exchange and bought brand new tires" I feel as if I have been "cheated" out of a recall and it really upsets me as I'm a Subaru lover. Can I please have help" this is unfair...

Unusual oil consumption. Currently there is a class action lawsuit ongoing. I have my service report papers, a tsb report (surface treatment change to oil control piston rings) and my car has been checked out by walnut creek Subaru dealership, but they state the problem is not severe enough to do anything at this time.

As I drove my vehicle into a parking space with a concrete bumper at the head, just as it was ready to stop, it suddenly lunged forward over the concrete bumper and finally came to a stop when the back wheels made contact with the concrete bumper and the ignition was turned off. A very frightening experience. Am not comfortable driving this car for fear of another similar occurrence.
