  • Automatic transmission

The starting problems began soon after taking delivery of vehicle and I now have 73500 miles on it. I gave them two videos. They cannot find the problem. I even sent a letter to Michigan state lemon law but could not get it classified as lemon. They replaced the battery in 2017 and again in January 2021. I finally took to a new dealership and they replaced the battery and said the fuel pump was malfunctioning so they installed a new fuel pump, the new dealerships service department was very attentive and professional and went the extra length to figure out the problem. I also mentioned to original dealership lights were always too dim.

I looked on the internet and found others who thought the same way, service manager told me she never heard of that complaint but has received complaints that the lights are too bright. The parts department knew of the light bulb issues and are suggesting Aftermarket LEDs and suggested where to buy and gave me that companies brochure. I was discussing an issue with work order customer service man, he told me he didn’t know and to look it up on the internet. This same man after looking at the loaner I had told me there was damage to the front end. I was stunned as the car sat in the garage. His coworker started to giggle and told me he was joking. It is hard to grasp that the original dealership allows such subpar customer service.

What a horrible experience all around. The new dealership service advisor already contacted me asking how the car is doing and assured me that if the starting problem continued they will further trouble shoot. They reached out to other dealerships asking if the starting problem had been encountered and if so what was the solution. Kudos to the new dealerships customer service manager and service representative.

My car had intermittent no-start issues. I would turn the key to start the engine, but it would not turn over. No sound heard from the starter after the first fail to start.

FIRST time Subaru owner. First off, the steering wheel locked on us, we couldn't steer the car. Was told to jiggle the steering wheel when ever it does this to unlock it. So you can then drive it.

SECOND...took it in for it's first check up left it at 9am so they had all day. Came back at 4.30pm husband dropped me off assuming the car would be ready? WRONG...the car hadn't been touched. White Written instructions on back window.. no courtesy clean or wash job. NOTHING.... MY VIEW POOR SERVICE. I stopped a salesman and explained. he said he would report it. Didn't even have the courtesy to wipe the writing off the rear view window, so I could see. He had the opportunity to help. He could have at that point... take charge, the wash rack was still open! What he did was say he would make a note. I was given an explanation someone had an emergency at work that day. O.K. I could understand that. in service, but the wash rack people and the salesman I stopped. POOR SERVICE

THIRD....today.. no car starting....The reason we purchased a new car was for having it when we needed it! We live rural and 10 miles from town. With 5,800 miles From a customer's view, it's a poor example of selling the customer on reliability. Have reported it to Parker Subaru, was told they would call me tomorrow as it's SUNDAY.... Would we buy another? at this stage of experience the answer would be NO.
