Legacy XLT 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

My Subaru window cracked while it was in the garage, and continued to crack turning and then cracking in different directions across the car. Subaru said that it was a chip that started it but clearly the crack initiated per their expert they sent me to from the outside edge. Then it continued to grow and crack in other directions. i have never see a crack progress and turn 90 deg several times across the window. There is clearly something wrong with the window.

crack in windshield

A serious safety issue if Subaru windshields crack so easily. As long as insurance is covering the expense, usually with added expense to car owner, Subaru has little incentive to improve windshield quality.
