Outback Limited 3.6L

  • CVT transmission
  • 16,475 miles

On my original complaint date, I was told that there was a load on the car and that I should consistently set my emergency brake at all times, which I continue to do to this date, however this clunking noise is most definitely a transmission issue and I have made note of it with my dealer who assures me they will take care it it in future. I have specific notes, however. This is an intermittent noise which makes it difficult to confirm, even though I had the dealers service technician ride with me. I continue to hear this and passengers have made comments to me about also hearing this noise. Needless to say, since I am no longer covered under warranty, a transmission rebuild or new one would certainly be an excessive financial outlay for me, but I suspect that that will be the case and with only 72,000 miles on the car at this point in time it's even more upsetting... I am adamant about all of my service procedures and stick to the scheduled maintenance with a XL spreadsheet. I hope this does not come to a pissing contest with Subaru.
