This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Subaru dealer.
Voice recognition for Bluetooth an GPS is worthless. Bluetooth sometimes works after 3-4 tries but voice recognition never ever works. Sends me to from California to Hawaii, did not know Subarus float.
Sent complaint to the Calif New Motor Vehicle Board but they have no authority over Subaru to do mediation. They sent Subaru a letter with my complaint and Subaru sent them back a letter saying the system works just fine. The dealer has yet to show me that the voice recognition for the GPS works, says it works just like the others on the lot. I have been fraudulently sold a vehicle that does not work, cannot be re sold and have been thrown under the bus. Looks like lawsuit time, looking at class action suit to get there attention.. See you in court Subaru.

The voice navigation system does not understand English. Before you start with excuses, my parents and I were born in Canada and only speak English. I can talk to my phone and it answers, this voice navigation system is useless. It can't even get numbers correct no matter which format you speak them.
The system should also take voice commands faster, having to wait for the "ding" is annoying.

Voice navigation went out approximately 5 months ago but thought it was my own computer ineptitude and waited till i brought it in for service. It was definitely a malfunction. it was replaced. Several recalls and problems with this vehicle. No more Subaru's for me in spite of cute dog commercials. Dealer here has many problems with service, another reason to eliminate Subaru from my shopping list. What can you expect when they have 15 salespeople and only 3 sometimes 4 service reps.
