metallic grinding when shifting into reverse after park
Brand new 2016 outback. Problem was immediately obvious. The car grinds and clanks when it is put into reverse to back out of the garage. Dealer stated that there is a procedure for putting car into park which must be followed when parking. Sequence of footbrake, parking brake and putting into parking gear etc. That helps a little bit, but there is still some grinding in spite of careful parking procedure. I maintain that this is a defect in the CVT transmission on this car. Anyone else having this problem, or should I just drive it until they have to replace the whole transmission at their cost?

Was driving the 2016 OBP up through the mountains on I-68 on the way back to West Virginia when my car started to lose power, so I gave it some gas and the transmission exploded. Not quite sure the reasoning behind it, but the dealership suspects that the front differential overheated, exploded, and then caused issues with the transmission. We are being told that this is not covered under TSB 16-115-18 from Subaru of America and the Dealership, even though it's still under 100,000 miles and within the 10 years. Do not buy a Subaru, since they seem to not want to stand behind their products.
