Outback Limited 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 151,000 miles

Infotainment system is very glitchy:. 1) It freezes up, 2) Randomly scans/parces through infotainment menus 3) Infotainment system and cellphone technology seems to be incompatible to the point where the infotainment system is unable to properly handoff commands to the cellphone and vice versa. Disabling Bluetooth technology on the iPhone seems to make the infotainment system less glitchy - but does not solve the problem with the infotainment system of randomly parsing through the console menus and/or console freezing up. Rebooting the infotainment system does not provide a long-term solution. 4) The infotainment navigation system malfunction is very distracting and may cause the driver to lose focus while driving - which may lead to automobile accidents. 5) Very disappointed that Subaru is not standing by its reputation of building solid products and willing to sell loyal - Subaru customers a subpar product. In the event that this problem is not resolved satisfactorily, I will not be considering purchasing Subaru vehicles every again. Which is a pity.

I spent a great deal of money on the Touring v6 outback with all the bells and whistles. However the radio is awful, it freezes cannot turn up or down, cannot change stations, cannot access the other apps like navigation, media, cd nothing it just freezes. I have not taken back to dealer yet but will it does me no good to purchase an auto at 40K with all the amenities and have this happen I am not happy. I need the navigation for traveling to visit grand kids, go to hospital appointments. When the radio freezes you can't turn it up or down or off. What a mess.

So at first I though it was my inexperience using the radio in the new car. But now I realize this has happened quite a bit. Most recently the screen froze and nothing I could do unfroze it. That was several weeks ago. I temporarily turned off the car to no avail. Later after turning the car off for several hours the screen and systems worked OK. Last night the radio showed stations but no sound. I played with the stations for a while but to no avail. Interestingly the Sirius XM promotional came on but no FM or AM station.
