Third infotainment system failure. Taking it to the dealership on Friday. This head unit made it 2.5 months after waiting 5 weeks for a replacement. The latest updates were done with this last installation.

After receiving a RECALL notice that I needed to update the Infotainment System, I took the vehicle in for service and after a 2 hr wait was told that the service department was unable to get the system to restart @ that I needed to replace the entire unit. I wa told the wait replacement would be 2-4wks +. I was experiencing any problems prior to taking my car for this recall "fix". An internet search reveals that a lot of Subaru customers have had similar experience and that there is a class suite to address this specific problem with the Infotainment System

Infotainment system just started “acting irradically” switching stations, switching to different applications, etc. For instance, it would begin making a phone call. All very distracting and with each switch the volume seemed to increase. The noise and switching applications and random phone calls made it almost impossible to drive safely so I did a hard shut off to turn the whole thing off. it hasn’t worked since.
