Outback Limited 2.5L V4

  • CVT transmission
  • 13,706 miles

Awful local Subaru dealer. Had car independently evaluated at my expense and towed to dealer because should still be under powertrain warranty. Vehicle not safe to drive. Dealer has no urgency to look at vehicle. Perfectly willing to wait weeks and leave me without functioning car. This car is only 3 years old with minimal mileage, 13k. Over that time and been maintained and pampered.

Apparent long list of CVT problems with Subaru vehicles. Some 2020 Outback's had transmission recall for significant software problem leading to hardware problem. My vehicle was not included. Obviously Subaru underestimated the number of affected vehicles. Car still under powertrain warranty but expecting an excuse from dealer. Told by independent assessment that all issues were internal transmission problems. My daughter is still driving a 2006 Honda Civic. 3 years is all I could get out of this pampered Outback. My prior experience after failed transmission is to get rid of the vehicle ASAP after repair! 3 years, 13,706 miles.
