Outback Onyx Turbo

  • CVT transmission
  • 200 miles

1 week after purchase, car was constantly shifting. Very jerky ride. Also step on gas, nothing happens, keep pushing on gas no go. Push on gas more and get whiplash cause turbo immediately kicks in. Then the car jerks because it slams into each speed. No fun to drive. In fact I hate it.

Took it to the dealer and they said nothing wrong. There I sit with my piece of s***. Other people who drive it say they would never get one. We go on a trip and my wife refuses to ride in it. When her car was in the shop, she refused to take it to work. She paid for a cab. How pitiful to be stuck with this and Subaru will not accept fault.

3rd complaint on same issue. Transmission shifting too much, too hard or not at all. Unpleasant to drive. Whiplash is inevitable if you drive this car. I will never buy another piece of sh*t Subaru. Took it to a different dealer and got the same answer. They say nothing wrong. Subaru will not take or acknowledge my problem. Bad customer service. Subaru doesn't care. It is horrible to drive.

It's obviously a problem. I don't like driving a car that acts like someone's first time driving a stick. Don't buy a Subaru. I wish I would have dug deeper into Subaru complaints. I would never have bought one. Why is it that Subaru mechanics drive other vehicles makes? More to come on this issue. And many other issues.

This is second time for same problem. No change in jerky transmission. Very difficult to drive. No fun to drive. Driving this car puts you at risk of whiplash or neck problems. Not fun to drive. Bought a bike to get around town. Dealer says nothing wrong. I did take service manager for a ride. When I talked about the car shifting he got upset and told me there are no gears in the transmission.

Anyway he said he didn't notice anything. Went into shop and they said they looked it over and nothing wrong. I argued, then gave up. Called next day and service manager not in, they said his neck hurt so stayed home. But, I am supposed to drive this. I complained to management but got nowhere. Next complaint coming up.
