WRX 2.0L H-4

  • Manual transmission
  • 15,500 miles

Sudden clicking coming from the motor while driving. Had it towed to Subaru service. Got a call, with little detail, that it was a known issue with the clutch assembly and Subaru would out of its goodwill replace this once for me under warranty. Since this is COVID plague time parts won't be in until next week and I might not have it back until the end of then. They did provide a Forester for me to drive in the meantime and have been quite pleasant about it, but did get a bit irritated when I mentioned I've read on carcomplaints.com and NHTSA's website that the current gen WRX seems to have a recall-level issue with the number of clutch failures. They flatly deny any recall for this emphatically but I can see one coming or my name isn't Nostradamus Jr.
