Theres is a mm of space between the switch turning on and off because of the brake pedal. The brake pedal has to be pushed/pulled all the way up so the the brake lights can be turned off. While I'm driving, I have to put my left foot under the brake pedal so that the brake lights and the hill assist light on the dashboard won't turn on. It dangerous for me to do that, but if I don't, sometimes when I'm driving (like going up a hill) the car will drop its rpms even if you are on the gas.
That little space is what's dangerous. I had gone to Subaru to do the brake lamp light switch recall and then a few weeks after this started to happen.
