This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Subaru dealer.
Once the weather warmed up enough to drive with the windows open, I heard a clicking noise only when turning hard left. The dealership told me the left axle had failed and replaced it under warranty. Happy they were able to do that, but I'm concerned that it failed in the first place since I drive very normally on city streets. Sure, our potholes are pretty bad, but not even close to off-roading... Also since this car inexplicably threw its transmission about 15000mi ago (see separate complaint about that), I'm a little worried about its longevity.

First the front left axle failed at around 70k and now the right failed at 80k. Our Honda Accord is just short of 200k with the original axles. Definitely a problem!

This issue starts as loud clicking noise when turning and slowly gets worse until it impacts steering. If not fixed it will break and you will be unable to drive.
