The car has a big problem changing gear and when I drive sometimes it slows down and couple of times I almost got into accident because of car slowing down and at times when I try to switch gears it clunks so hard and it is becoming very dangerous driving with my kids in the car because either the car wont change gears or looses speed when I am driving and that can cause a big accident and I call Suzuki dealership and its not under warranty, there should be a recall on this vehicle it is very dangerous and they are the ones making poor quality parts for the engine, and from other consumers I am not the only one with the same issue and worries. Please help!

I have been reading about these 2007 Suzuki. The transmission range sensors is going out on my vehicle also. The mechanic also stated the throttle body was bad. Now I just had $1600 worth of work to this vehicle, timing belt changed, new tires, oil changed etc. Suzuki needs to step up to the plate and recall these lemons!! the mechanic stated the throttle body was major but said he wasn't sure if it was covered under powertrain warranty. If Suzuki cannot guarantee their cars for less than 100'000 miles than I'll never buy another Suzuki! think I'll paint my canary yellow!!!!!!

My transmission range sensor is malfunctioning. Prior to find out that this was actually the issue I internet search numerous complaints that this part is a failing part on my type of car (2007 Suzuki Forenza) and it has been reported. The dealer advised that because it wasn't on the recall list the part wasn't covered(I bought part from dealer and had different mechanic do the repairs). My frustration is that complaints have been received by Suzuki for this issue but it hasn't been placed on the recall list. What merits what goes on a recall list?

The transmission range sensor was replaced but the failure was not corrected. The vehicle continued to hesitate while driving at any speed and the gears would shift hard into drive and reverse. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 87,000.

My check engine light came on after I placed the car in reverse, it gave a big "thunk" sound. I turned the car off and restarted it. The check engine light is still on. When I went to the dealership to get a diagnosis and they said it was a transmission range sensor gone bad! $250 to replace. As you can see that there are a lot of customer complaints on the same issue but no recall. I have already had the brake light sensor replaced earlier this year and a power steering pump! not liking Suzuki right now!

Googled on website, and found lots of people complained that the transmission range sensor is broken prematurely, which clearly indicate the such part is a defective one. My such claim was also supported by what technician told me who fixed my car as they are authorized Suzuki service dealership. He told me there is around 4-5 fix for this part out of this model around this mileage. My car is still under powertrain warranty, but this part is excluded from such coverage. Suzuki should recall this part and fix the problem for free of charge.

The transmission sensor went out on my 2007 Forenza at 77000 miles. This also happened to my sisters 2006 Forenza at 50000 miles. The warranty says it covers engine and transmission but when we took it to the dealer, they informed us that the transmission sensor is not covered. I have done significant research and this seems to be extremely common among Suzuki cars.

I have a 2007 Forenza and yesterday as I was putting the car into reverse, it made a loud clunking noise. The gear selector display on the dash seemed to go haywire displaying all the letters (D, R, N, etc) with a diagonal line through it. It then went back to normal, then the "check engine" light came on. This morning as I was getting ready to take the car to autozone, it did not make any noise. They hooked up the diagnostic computer and it came up with codes PO700 and PO705, which varies in wording but seems like it's the transmission range sensor.

I purchased a 2007 Suzuki Forenza in Dec 2006 and my transmission range sensor went bad in August of 2007, it went bad again less than a year later in June 2008, again in 2010 and now as of today November 22,2011 I have to put it back in the shop for the transmission range sensor. I really do feel like this should had been a recall considering I am not the only Suzuki Forenza owner that has had the ongoing issues. I have came out of pocket over $600 so far on getting this problem fix because it was not cover under warranty.

In August of 2011, when I would put the car into first gear, the engine light would come on and the car would not go out of first gear until I pulled over, shut the car off and started all over again. Since then the engine light would stay on for a day and then nothing would be wrong. Also, when I put the car into reverse the "R" on the display would have an diagonal line through it and the would only go into first gear again until I shut the car off again. These incidents have happened at least once a week since. I never know when the car will do this and I am afraid that it will do this and not fix itself again and then be stuck in first gear. The deal wants to charge me $200 to fix this. I think it should be a recall item.
