problem #1

Grand Vitara 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Car has two fuel pumps / sending units INSIDE the fuel tank. 2 garages (one independent/ one dealer) said the sending units were bad. The independent told me that the fuel pump/sending unit were one piece. According to Suzuki, the fuel pump is still under the warranty, BUT NOT THE SENDING UNIT!! This car only has 60,000 miles on it. This is my 3rd suzuki AND MY LAST! I've gotten the run around before, but NEVER this bad!! The dealer quoted $600 just to change the sending units, my second opinion guy quoted 850 - 900 to change both the pumps & sending units.

Right now, Suzuki is right at the TOP of my xxxxlist!! Basically, I cant see paying one of their dealers $200 plus just to drop the tank & find out that they won't cover anything! I'll take it to a local & MAYBE buy the original parts....

Update from Jan 6, 2012: Also found several other problems, & am reluctant to take it to a dealer. Am likely to run it till it stops w/out

bothering.
