On 04/21/15 another incident was when I was driving to the hospital and all of a sudden my car dropped to less than 20 mph and wouldn't accelerate.I had to pull over without power steering to get my son to the hospital. On 5/04/2015 I was driving my car to drop my son off at daycare and when I started my car it revved up the engine on its own from 2-3 RPM's and then idled and I put the car in drive and drove about 2 miles and then while I was at a stop light I was stopped and my car jerked forward slightly 2 times and you could hear the change in the car then all of a sudden it died. I waited about 4 minutes and started it up again and it got me to my sons daycare and then I shut it off took him in and went to start my car and it wouldn't start. After waiting for 3 minutes I tried again and the same thing happened on my way to work. My car died while I was at the stop light. This time I was on a hill and my car started rolling backwards but my brakes were on so I didn't hit the car behind me.the latest incident occurred while I was on the freeway and I was going 65 mph and it lost power and I slowed to 20 mph then my car died this time it took almost 15 minutes for me to start my car. I took it to the shop 4 times and they replaced my throttle body, throttle actuator control, and my throttle position sensor. It still didn't stop my car from dying. My mechanic told me it keeps losing the signal and the Suzuki dealer is shutting it off. I am very scared to drive my vehicle in case I get into an accident due to it continuously dying on me.

The check engine came on, and I had a diagnostic done. It showed one O2 sensor was not good. It was replaced. After one week the light came on again, and another sensor needed to be replaced. About two weeks later, the light came on again, and the test showed that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. This was replaced. Two months later the light came on again, and it shows that both the O2 sensor and catalytic converter need to be replaced. Nonetheless, the car passed the emissions test, but the light is still on, and the diagnostics still read the same; the O2 sensor and catalytic converter need to be replaced. The acceleration now has problems. Sometimes, the car will hit 3-4 RPM while the acceleration is at 40 mph and will not go higher. Sometimes, I have to pull over because a "burning rubber smell" is emitted from the engine and comes into the car through the vents. The mileage now is about 96500.

The contact owns a 2006 Suzuki Reno. While driving approximately 10 mph, there was an unexpected increase in acceleration. The brake pedal was engaged repeatedly however, the vehicle failed to stop until the gear lever was shifted into neutral. The contact was able to resume normally. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the throttle body was replaced. The failure recurred after the repair was performed. The vehicle had not been repaired for most recent failure. The manufacturer was notified of the acceleration failure. The approximate failure mileage was 56,000. Updated 01/15/13 the consumer stated an independent auto engineer inspected and performed diagnostics on 1/8/2013. The auto engineer did not find any failures. Updated 1/22/2013

I bought my 2006 Suzuki Reno in 2008 with approx. 41000 miles on it. My car is currently approx. 90000 miles but the issue started happening around the 83000 mile mark. I was on the highway when all of a sudden, it felt like my car shifted into neutral while driving and went from 70mph to 30mph almost immediately. After that first instance, the car continually bangs into gear from park to reverse. It drives fine for a few minutes but then it continues to erratically shift into neutral while driving. Researched online about problem and seems numerous others have the exact same issue with Renos as well as forenzas. Transmission range sensor faulty. Please recall, it is extremely dangerous.

For several weeks my car has been clunking into reverse and drive and getting stuck in 3rd gear while driving. I went to Suzuki and bought the transmission range sensor which is what is faulty. The Suzuki dealer was really surprised that we had 71000 miles on the car and had not had a problem yet (they know its a problem) I have not had a chance to change the sensor yet but my wife was driving the car today and when put into reverse the car went forward instead. Luckily there was only a curb that she hit but she could have hit a car or a person. She had to stop somewhere on the way home and had another problem in another parking lot where she shifted into reverse and instead of going forward the car shot out of the stall without her even touching the gas pedal. Again she did not hit anyone but how long will Suzuki let this happen before someone is killed. Also when the car gets stuck in 3rd gear it is very dangerous to pull out onto a road as you can barely accelerate fast enough to avoid oncoming traffic. The sensor will be replaced tonight when I get home but these cars should not be having these problems and according to the mechanics at Suzuki they see this problem all the time. I understand that parts break and cars have to be repaired, but this is something that is so poorly engineered that it is putting the occupants in the car as well as other people in danger. Some people have had to replace their trs over 7 times and Suzuki has yet to issue a recall.
